The Legion of Mary is an association of faithful Catholics who love Mary and are called to do apostolic work through her. The work is assigned by a priest to benefit parishioners who are suffering or in need of any spiritual strength or assistance. Examples of these works in assisting Father in meeting the spiritual needs of our parishioners are: visits to the sick; whether home bound, in hospitals, or nursing homes, bringing of communion to them or giving a communion service to the residents of the home, praying a Chaplet of Divine Mercy with the sick or dying person, visiting prisoners, or assisting in a retreat given for the prisoners, taking a person who doesn’t drive anymore to church for Sunday Mass, teaching religious education, leading a bible study, or offering religious programs that increase our faith and love for God. There are many needs and many people needed to answer the call of being an apostle for the church of today. The Legion of Mary is devoted to Our Blessed Mother, Mary. Jesus is the source of all grace and Mary is the dispenser of grace given to her by Jesus. Mary has so many graces to give us and is calling us to become apostles to assist in the work so desperately needed done in our church. We do the work through Mary. She guides us and graces us to be able to do the task at hand. We are able to be Mary to others, to love as she loves, to care as she cares, and to bring others to her son, Jesus.
Our Legion of Mary meetings are held at Immaculate Conceptin Church on Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the 2nd classroom on left from parish office. For more information, please contact Ann Congilosi at:
