Life is so busy. Sometimes it seems every time you turn around you're having breakfast again. Wouldn't it be nice to slow down just for an hour or so and spend some time with your parish family? No long term commitment, just the chance to help out, catch up with old friends and maybe make some new acquaintances. Fun included!

Greeters
Our Greeters welcome parishioners and guests to our Church before weekend masses and holy days, as well as hand out various materials throughout the year (i.e. weekly bulletins, parish information, etc.)
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion aide Father Mitch and Deacon Roy in passing out Communion during Masses.
Trainings to become an EMOHC are held throughout the Diocese, and are free of charge.
Visiting the Sick with Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who visit with the sick and homebound in our parish, take them Holy Communion, and also visit with them.
Lectors
Our Lectors read at each weekend Mass, as well as on Holy Days. Lectors are scheduled monthly for specific masses.
Training will be done in the parish, and a lector workbook is provided to give readers a background to what they are reading, and to help pronounce possibly difficult words.
Altar Servers
Children who have received their First Communion, are eligible to become Altar Servers, and help out Father Mitch during Masses.
Training is held in the Parish throughout the year, and Altar Servers are scheduled on a monthly basis.
Music Ministry
Our musicians provide music throughout Masses, with the possibility of other events throughout the year.
Practices and Music are available for the musicians.
Liturgy Committee
This committee focuses on our liturgical ministries and the many aspects of liturgical life within our parish. The goal is to further the assembly’s participation during the liturgy. Activities include planning for special celebrations, and developing themes for the liturgical seasons.
Counting Team
Our Counters work together on a rotating basis to count and deposit the parish collections.
Training is done by the counting team leaders, with direction from the Parish Office.
Youth Faith Formation
Our Youth Faith Formation is responsible for catechism of children from Pre-K all the way through Confirmation in High School. Catechists work with provided materials to teach curriculum in line with the Diocesan Curriculum.
Youth Ministry
Our Youth Ministry strives to get youth involved in the Parish through different events (i.e. Pancake Breakfast, Pizza Sale, Movie Nights, etc.). New ideas are always welcome!
Decorating
Our decorators work on changing over the church between liturgical seasons, as well as at the different events held in our Parish Hall.
Compassion Ministry
Our Compassion Ministry works to maintain the Parish Compassion Ministry list that is published in the weekly bulletin. Members send out cards, make phone calls to those on the list, as well as visit those in nursing homes.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
As part of our Crafter’s Ministry, our crafter’s work to create prayer shawls and lap robes that are then available to the Parish Community. Shawls and Robes are blessed throughout the year, and available from both the Church and Rectory.
Funeral Liturgy Planning
These ministers meet with families to help plan the funeral readings, music, and other elements of the Funeral Mass. Hands on training is provided.
Funeral Luncheon Help
Our three committees work on a rotating basis to provide side dishes and desserts for Funeral Luncheons. Help is needed to set-up, clean-up, serve, and provide dishes.
Church Linens Care
On a rotating schedule, this team takes care of washing, ironing, and starching the various linens used for Mass.
Parish Artists
Throughout the Parish there are statues, and other artistic elements that may need to be spruced up. Artists will work to maintain these elements so they are looking their best.
Buildings and Grounds
This group works to maintain the parish buildings and grounds both on the inside, and the outside. Projects are decided upon throughout the year by the group.
Gardening and Weeding
This group will work around the Parish buildings to maintain the various flower beds and gardens. Materials will be provided by the Parish as needed.
Kitchen Help
Like working in the kitchen? Every event hosted by the parish is always looking for help in the kitchen to cook, serve, wash dishes, and clean-up. The kitchen crew is always busy and time flies by!
Holiday Heritage Auction
Held the first Friday and Saturday in November every year, the Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year! Help is needed in a variety of aspects including ticket sales, silent auction table monitors, counting room, children’s room and more!
Roast Beef Dinner
Held the last Sunday of September every year, the Roast Beef Dinner brings people to our Parish from around the area! Help is needed in a variety of areas, and all members of a family can get involved (kids included!).
Mass of Remembrance
Held the second Thursday of November each year, the Mass of Remembrance celebrates our deceased loved ones that we have lost over the past year. A reception is held after the Mass, with a video display of the loved ones shown while refreshments are provided.
Pancake Breakfast
Held in the Spring, the pancake breakfast is hosted by our Youth Ministry. Come help out our youth and spend some time getting to work with these great kids!
Round and Square Dances
Held once a month from October through May, the Round and Square Dances held in the Hall bring people to the Parish from around the Area. Help setting-up, selling tickets and refreshments, and clean-up is always welcome!
Card Parties
Held the first Sunday of each month (October-April) at LNOFD Hall, each month a home-cooked meal is provided with desserts for players. Help is needed to set-up, clean-up, serve, and help cook.
Men’s Group
Just starting out, the Men’s Group meets one Monday a month to socialize, and work on projects together. Recently they hosted a movie night, and more events are always possible.
Summer Sweepstakes
Held each summer, the sweepstakes team works to get the tickets out to the parishioners, count the money and tickets that return, and draw the winning tickets each week for 4 weeks starting at the Outdoor Mass.
Summer Music Series
Held for 6 Mondays every summer starting in mid-July, the Summer Music Series is a free community event. Each week a different ministry takes over the host position providing refreshments, and help.
Outdoor Mass
Held in July each year, the Outdoor Mass and Parish Picnic brings together our parish community to enjoy Mass and a meal together. Help is always needed setting up, cleaning up, and serving, as well as with the basket raffle and summer sweepstakes drawing.
Easter Egg Hunt
Held before Easter, this event is something for the families, and all members of the Parish. Father Mitch also blesses Easter Baskets after the Egg Hunt.
Mission Yard Sale
Held each May, the proceeds from the Yard Sale go to a variety of Missions chosen by the committee each year. Help is needed each day of this three day event, including setting up the week before hand.
Grand Raffle
Held in March of every year, this raffle is the second biggest fundraiser for our parish! Help is needed to send out tickets, count and record incoming tickets, and at the Grand Raffle Event itself.
Appreciation Night
New this year, we will be hosting an adult-only Appreciation Night for all of our hardworking volunteers in the Parish. Still in the works, we are looking for help organizing and setting up this fun night!
Clean Up Crew
This crew helps at the end of events to put the parish hall, and sometimes the church, back together.
Advertising
This group helps get the word out about our various events, and everything going on in the Parish. Social Media plays a role, as does print advertising.
Parish Faith Formation
This group encompasses all aspects of Faith Formation throughout the Parish from birth (baptism) to Adult Catechism.
Ushers
Our ushers take part in the mass by gathering the parish collection, and sometimes passing out other materials throughout mass.
Eucharistic Adoration
We are looking for a group of people that would like to take part in Adoration, in order to set up a schedule. Any amount of time you are able to share would be wonderful.
OCIA (RCIA)
Adults interested in becoming Catholic, or those who are looking to receive the sacraments of initiation.
Cemeteries
A cemetery committee is being formed to work on both St. Martin’s and St. Mary’s Cemeteries. Updating maps, verifying records, and upkeep may all be a part of this committee.
Adult Catechism
This group meets once a month to discuss our Faith in an informal setting. Have a faith-related question? This is the place to ask it!
